Emilian Mihailov is a moral philosopher and teaches at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Bucharest. He is currently working on the ethics of human bioenhancement. The potential of biotechnology to intervene in how the human brain functions open significant possibilities for improving human capacities beyond their normal range, such as drugs that could dramatically increase intelligence and memory to super-human levels, bionic athletes and soldiers, biotechnological interventions that would extend human life span indefinitely, or uploading ourselves into machines.
In his recent TEDx event, Emilian Mihailov talked about the brain of villains and the brain of saints (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YmpbPK3nbPQ&t=20s).
